Pencil Drill


Description: The Pencil Drill trains you to keep your front wrist nice and flat and use your big muscles to make a one-piece pendulum stroke instead of getting too wristy or flippy with your chips.

Summary:
  1. For this you will need a pencil, pen or short ruler. You will also either need to wear your glove or use a wrist band or rubber band.
  2. Attach the pencil or ruler to the back of your front hand putting it in your glove or securing it with a rubber band.
  3. Make chips focusing on keeping your front wrist nice and flat so that the pencil doesn't stab you in the arm. It's easy to tell if you are making the correct stroke, based upon if the pencil stabs you are stays flat.
  4. Practice the Pencil Drill to prevent your front wrist from breaking down which will allow you to use your big muscles of your back, shoulders and core to make a pendulum stroke.
