Front Foot Out Drill

Description: The Front Foot Out Drill helps you to get your hips open during the downswing. Whether you are tight and not able to get them through or you are having trouble getting them open in time with the correct sequence in your swing, this drill will teach you the correct hip action.

Summary:
  1. Set up to your golf ball taking your normal stance. Then flare your front toe out so that it points to your target (90 degrees).
  2. Take a couple of practice swings and notice how easy it is to open your hips and how early they want to open now. Remember the hips are a combination of a bump and a turn, but most golfers have trouble turning them. They should turn way earlier than most players think. This stance will give you that feeling.
  3. After you have made a few successful practice swings and gotten used to the feel of the hips snapping open try hitting a few golf balls. This would even be a good way to make your practice swings on the golf course to get yourself moving.
