Roll Down Drill


Description: The Roll Down Drill will help get you out of flipping your wrists through impact and hitting fat and thin shots. It will teach you a proper release for more solid contact and improved distance.

Summary:
  1. Take a few practice swings with light limber wrists and forearms. Feel your front arm roll over the top of your rear arm as you come through the ball.
  2. Hold your finish nice and low getting the feeling that you are "dumping" the club into the ground. Don't try to swing up, the club comes up on it's own. You never need to help it.
  3. Once you get the feel, try hitting some balls allowing your forearms to freely roll. Try finishing short like you would with a punch shot and look at your forearms to see if they have rolled over properly. If they have rolled over by time you reach waste high then rest assured, you couldn't have flipped or cupped your wrists.
