Question on Diagnosing Problems:

How can you diagnose if the grip is the cause of hook/slice? And how do you know when to adjust grip (strengthen/weaken)?

First of all, you can submit a close up of your grip and a picture of your set up from face on and down the line or submit your swing as a Pro Member. I would be happy to tell you if I think it may be part of the problem. Without seeing someone swing it is difficult to diagnose, so you may also think about purchasing an on-line lesson where you submit your video so I can see everything that is taking place during your swing.

To self diagnose, the only way is by experimenting. If you weaken or strengthen your grip and it seems to change the ball flight for the better, then congrats, that was a quick and easy fix. As far as when to adjust the grip, that is something that few and only skilled players do on very specific shots. In general you should grip the club the same way every time and for every type of shot for consistency.
