Question on Diagnosing Problems:

What is a good drill to get to your left side and not come over the top? Thank you. Warren
--Warren H. from Birmingham, AL

Hi Warren. Thanks for writing MyGolfInstructor.com. I'm excited to get to help you with your game.

Many golfers struggle with getting their weight 100% through the golf shot and shifting it at the right time in the swing. Common causes can be:

- an early release of the club head
- coming over the top
- a reverse weight shift
- swinging too far inside out

It's always difficult to say what a person's cause may be without seeing their swing, but it seems you know you are coming over the top. The most important thing is to get your kinematic sequence working in the correct order and that's from the ground up. Let's give you a free drill to try and see if we can correct your sequence. Otherwise if you are still struggling we might need to attack your swing plane and try some things to get you down to the inside of the ball. Give this a try for now and let me know how it goes.
