Question on Driving:

All of a sudden my drives are sky balling, as is the tee...
--Remy N. from Seattle, WA

Hi Remy. Thanks for writing MyGolfInstructor.com. I'm looking forward to working with you.

Skying drives or popping them up is generally related to 2 issues:
1) Too steep of an angle of attack
2) Flipping the clubhead past your hands or "scooping" by adding loft

The very first thing I want to do is make sure that you are positioned correctly when you set up to your driver so that you can produce the desired angle of attack (from low to high as opposed to high to low). Once you are positioned correctly, if you are still popping the ball up I would want to take a look at your swing plane and your release. We need to make sure that you are releasing the clubhead at the last possible moment and that you are swinging on an inside/out angle of attack.

Let's start first with this article which will help you set up correctly for successful drives:

Read through it and give it a try. Please let me know how you do or if you have any other questions.
Thanks.
