Question on Equipment:

Hi Maria,
I am a 16 handicapper with an average swing speed of 93 MPH. I have played as many as 54 holes with the same ball and I could tell no difference in the ball's performance as far as distance, spin, flight or roll on the green from the first swing to the last. Have ball manufactures ever done tests to determine the average life of a ball before it shows inconsistency in performance?

Thanks for writing MyGolfInstructor.com.

I know that Titleist says it's balls should last 4-5 years on the shelf in normal not extreme temperatures. I also know that if you have a cut or a blemish on your ball that should replace it. I do not know however what normal wear and tear without cuts, blemishes or noticeable defects has on a ball. I think they are built to sustain a lot of hits and a lot of pressure.

I have read that the ball itself can take a good beating and will last a lot longer than the cover. Hope that helps!

And great job on all the practicing! It's the only way to improve!!!
