Question on Getting Started:

As a newbie and senior who has not played in a while, what is the best way to get back into the game?
--Beverly R. from Port Saint Lucie, FL

Hi Beverly. Welcome back to golf!

The best thing you can do is start educating yourself as things have probably changed quite a bit along the lines of equipment and instruction since you last started.

I would spend time reading through our various sections. Getting started, equipment, mental game and all the basics like putting, chipping, pitching, driving, etc.. There are hundreds of articles here and some free videos. You will also catch hundreds of free videos on our YouTube Channel.

Set small goals so you don't get frustrated. Things like get on the green with the first attempt when chipping and pitching and no three putts. Then gradually put more pressure on yourself to do better like chip withing 10 feet and have no more than 31 putts per 18. If you set small goals, allow yourself to achieve them and then gradually set the bar higher and higher you will see a nice flow of constant improvement in your game.
