1/2 Kneel Rotations

Description: 1/2 Kneel Rotations are a great rotational training exercise. The foundation of the golf swing is rotation and a strong core is necessary for a player to be stable while they rotate and rotate with force. 1/2 Kneel Rotations work the muscles of the core such as the abdominal muscles and lower back.

Summary:
  1. Start by kneeling down on the floor or a pad if you have sensitive knees. Next, place one foot in front of you so that your foot is flat on the ground and both knees are at a 90 degree angle. This exercise can be done by placing a bar on your shoulders behind your head or by holding your arms straight out in front of you while holding a medicine ball (preferred).
  2. Start by twisting to one side as far as possible. If you are holding the medicine ball go as far as you can while keeping your arms straight. Make sure to maintain stable legs and hips so there isn't any movement or rocking of your lower body throughout the exercise.
  3. Perform 3 sets of 8-10 repetitions per side. If using weight gradually increase it each week if possible.
