Standing Cable Rotations


Description: Standing Cable Rotations are an abdominal exercise that strengthens the obliques and the rotational muscles of the trunk. They help teach the upper body how to stabilize and move as a unit while working on weight shift and proper rotation. These benefits greatly help the coil, pivot and power of your golf swing.

Summary:
  1. Start by setting the cable at a weight that you can handle and maintain a controlled motion with. Grab the cable with both hands. Be sure to keep your knees slightly bent, your arms straight and your feet pointed straight ahead and shoulder width apart.
  2. Using only your abdominals and core muscles, rotate the cable away from the weight machine while maintaining straight arms. Perform the exercise in both directions.
  3. Start with 3 sets of 8-10 repetitions on each side. Pull back to the count of one, then hold for one, then return to the count of 3. Add more weight as the weeks progress and you gain strength.
