Question on Irons:

How do I learn to hit down on the ball or take a divot on a consistent basis?

Hi Donald. Thanks for writing MyGolfInstructor.com. I'm excited to get to help you with your game.

Hitting down on the ball obviously is only possible if your clubhead is still descending through impact. In order to make the club descend you must keep it behind your hands and only let it catch up or release at the very last possible moment (impact). If the clubhead passes your hands it will start ascending and it will be impossible to take a divot.
