Toss the Club Drill

Description: The Toss the Club Drill teaches you how to relax and pitch the ball in a much more natural way compared being too tense and too controlling.

Summary:
  1. You are actually going to toss the club in this drill, so make sure you practice this drill in an area where you can't cause any harm or damage and can also retrieve your club. Make a normal back swing as you normally wood for a typical pitch shot.
  2. Right at impact, let go of the club. That's right, you will actually let go of the club at impact. Look for where the club goes. It should go straight out in front of you. If it moves to the left or right or even up over your head, you are hanging onto the club and using too much effort.
  3. Practice the Toss the Club Drill to train your body to make a nice, relaxed pitch and to test to see if you are being too tense and controlling when trying to pitch the ball up on a green.
  4. Practice the Toss the Club Drill to train your body to make a nice, relaxed pitch and to test to see if you are being too tense and controlling when trying to pitch the ball up on a green.
