Indoor Drill - Pitching Swing Plane Connect Drill

Description: This drill helps you to sync up your arm swing with your body pivot. The result is ultimate control and accuracy while staying on plane with pitch shots into the green.

Summary:
  1. First, you'll need to make some simple homemade training aids. Start by taking a tee and placing it in the end of your grip. Next, place another golf club or plane stick on the ground to represent your target line. Either place a head cover under both armpits or use a regular size bath towel and wrap it around your back so that each end of it is under one of your arm pits.
  2. Next, take your set up with the golf club in your hand hovering over the middle of the club shaft of the club laying on the ground.
  3. Start by swinging halfway back and halfway through making sure not to drop the towel from your armpits. This will help ensure your arms are synced up with your body pivot.
  4. As you stop halfway back and halfway through, make sure at each point the tee in the end of your grip is pointing to the club shaft on the ground which represents your target line. This is a great swing plane check for you. If your club is pointing too far in front of the line you are too flat and if it is pointing inside the line you are too steep.
