Question on Practice:

Hi Angus. Thanks for writing MyGolfInstructor.com. I'm excited to get to help you with your game.
That's a fantastic question and one I get a lot of course. The difference a day can make in golf is amazing. That's why many of the greats also practiced more than anyone. Ben Hogan and Tiger Woods are two fine examples of that.
A very important key for you is to make sure when you are practicing on the range that you are doing two things:
1) Practice your pre-shot routine. Go through all the motions you will go through out on the course. This helps you get in and remain in a groove.
2) Play golf on the range. Make sure to pick out different targets and actually try playing an imaginary hole. Hit driver first, then your fairway shot and so on to make your practice much more realistic.
The worst thing you can do is set up in the same place and aimed at the same target throughout your practice session. That just doesn't mirror what you will be doing on the course.
I hope that helps you out and let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks.
