String Drill
Description: The String Drill helps give your eyes a point of reference to see how your putter is moving along the target line to ensure you are making a proper putting path.
Summary:
- Simply take a string about 10 feet long or so and tie each end to the top of a pencil. Stick one pencil on the far side of the cup so that the string passes over the cup and then 9 feet back or so.
- Set up with your ball and putter head directly under the string and roll putts. Watch your putter head swing back and forth under the string to monitor it's path.
- Practice the String Drill to work on your putting path to give your eyes a point of reference with which to check path as it relates to the target line.
