Question on Shot Making:

I need to hit my middle and long irons higher, any ideas?

The first thing I would do is check your clubs. If you are hitting everything else o.k., but you are hitting your mid and long irons too low, the clubs might not be properly fit for you. The flex and kick point in the shaft may not time correctly to your swing. You also may benefit from a club head that has more weight at the bottom. Otherwise, here are some things you could try.

1) Move the ball more forward in your stance. If you have it too far back, the face will actually be de-lofted at impact causing you to hit the ball lower.

2) Check your weight distribution. If you are too far forward at impact you could be smothering the ball and knocking it down. Try to make sure that your upper body is behind the ball at impact so you can shoot the ball up into the air. Note that when you lean forward, your hands will follow putting them ahead of the ball. This de-lofts the face.

3) You may try to steepen your swing. If you are attacking the ball from too shallow of an angle of attack the trajectory will be low.
