Question on Shot Making:

How do you hit off wet fairway? Could you also go over ball position? Thanks.
--Perry S. from Ravenna, OH

Hi Perry. Thanks for writing MyGolfInstructor.com. I'm excited to get to help you with your game.

Hitting off a wet fairway should be no different than hitting off a dry one. Wherever you would normally play your ball position is where you should play it, whether you are hitting woods or irons. Obviously, if you are a person who hits it fat (behind the ball) occasionally, you may be a bit intimidated by soggy lies. If however, you hit the ball clean (hit the ball first), then the condition of the ground in front of the ball has no effect be it a we lie or a tight one like a cart path.

I recommend to all my students to play their ball one ball forward of center with their irons and two balls forward of center with their fairway woods.

I hope this helps and if you have any other questions please let me know.

Thanks
